How Does One Show His Love for Jesus?
Have you ever had the experience of wanting to express your love for your mate and not knowing what she would want? I will never forget our first Christmas. I went out and bought my wife a dress, wanting to make her happy. When she opened my gift, I could tell that what I gave was something she never wanted. I learned a lesson that day— that I need to listen to find out what would please her.
Wouldn’t it be sad for a person to come to the end of one’s life expecting God to accept him into His heavenly kingdom and then to learn that what he presented to Him in his life was not what God wanted? How does one know how to express love for God? Listen to what Jesus said: “If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15). We can show our love for God by keeping His commandments. It is just that simple.
