Why Does My Family Need The Bible? (1)

By Greg King

“Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works which You have done; and Your thoughts which are toward us cannot be recounted to You in order; if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered” (Psa. 40:5).

Among the greatest blessings ever given to man is the magnificent and gracious gift of the Bible. David spoke of this blessing: “More to be desired are they than gold, sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover, by them your servant is warned, and in keeping them there is great reward” (Psa. 19:10-11).

Do we appreciate the great gift of the Bible? Do we recognize our tremendous need for it? Each of us needs the book that is sweeter than honey and surpasses all the works of men. The Apostle Paul told Timothy that, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work” (2 Tim. 3:16-17)

I want my family to know what God has said. I want my family to know so that they can follow God’s instruction and be “complete, equipped for every good work”. The instruction of God provides for a good life on earth and the promise of an even better life in heaven. Is your family being guided by God’s word? You and your family are always welcomed to come and visit our assemblies where God’s word is always taught.
