Under Attack!

It is extremely unfortunate that in our society Christianity is increasingly under attack. While this is not surprising, we should also know that it is nothing new. Satan cannot afford to leave Christians and their faith alone. Since the first deceitful ploy made by Satan in the garden, he has been on the attack with an unrelenting determination to destroy. He will stop at nothing and use any tactic, regardless of how untrue or unfair, to draw people away from God.
From the very beginning of God’s revelation Satan is described as a slippery and powerful enemy - Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the LORD God had made…Genesis 3:11. Paul tells us in Ephesians 6:11 that Satan has schemes designed to destroy our faith. For that reason we are told to “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.” Yet, we can outwit Satan and send him packing if we know and recognize his schemes. 2 Corinthians 2:11 states, “so that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his schemes.” James 4:7 says, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
We can survive the attack and stand as victors because our God is greater than our enemy. Don’t be fooled by Satan. Put on the whole armor of God so that you will be able to stand firm. You are invited to come study and grow with us at the Decatur Township church of Christ.
