The Way
The Way
By Greg King
It is unfortunate that in our society people try to blur the lines between RIGHT and WRONG. In times past, nearly everyone would agree that lying is WRONG and "honesty is the best policy." Today, folks will say that it is okay to lie in some situations if it will
not "hurt" anyone. It seems that as time passes there are few things that are definitely RIGHT or WRONG in the mind of many. One of the problems is that we have been fed the line of "situation ethics". What is RIGHT for you may not be RIGHT for me. We are being told that truth is relative. This line of thinking has even found its way into the minds of those professing to be religious. They hold to this thinking even though it is contrary to what God says.
God sets a definite standard and expects people to live up to it. He has a standard to which all men are to align themselves. God says there is a right and a wrong way of living. "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads to life, and few there be that find it" (Matt. 7:13-14).
The right way is Jesus Christ. "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me" John. 14:6. The WRONG way is anything else. Jesus also said, “I told you that you would die in your sins, for unless you believe that I am he you will die in your sins.”
The right way is marked out by God's inspired Word 2 Tim. 3:16-17. It contains all that we need in order to live a righteous and godly life 2 Pet. 1:3. A person MUST live within the teaching of Christ in order to have fellowship (salvation) in Christ. You can find the way to salvation. It is clearly illuminated in God’s word.
